Feb 21, 2008 · I've never heard of a Torsen unit failing on a Audi quattro in recent years. The torsen binding on full lock turns is a well-known characteristic, particularly on earlier generation quattro systems where the bias ratio was higher. When Audi changed the ratio from 4:1 to the current 2:1, most of the binding disappeared.
Apr 21, 2010 · MTL or MT-90 should be okay. For a manual quattro you will need ~2qts for the front and ~2qts for the rear as well. Automatics quattro ~9.0L for a full flush and 2.6L for a change in the tranny and center diff, ~1.9L rear diff.

Jan 3, 2011 · Step 3) Place a drain pan under the drain plug and drain the rear diff. After all the nasty fluid is out replace the plug and torque to 26 lb-ft. Step 4) Make sure the car is level then using the syringe, put 1.75 quarts of fluid back into the rear diff. Then slowly add until you see fluid dribble out of the fill hole.
